Backup Area [Important] Empty
PostSubject: Backup Area [Important]   Backup Area [Important] EmptyNovember 8th 2010, 12:28 am

I have created and installed a new plugin that allows to backup only some parts of the world and not the whole world

Backup Area [Important] Backuparea

So instead of having a 150-200 mb backup file, I have a 12mb one. This allow people to continue exploring the world without restriction, it won't be a problem anymore.

The command /bcheck will tell you if you are in a backup area or not. Check that everything you did build is in an area. All objects outside can be deleted/griefed anytime without any chance of being restored.

Moderators only can create new areas. If you need to backup your house, ask a moderator.

The commands to create a new area are :

/barea new : record your position
/barea create [areaname] : record the second position and create the area [areaname]

Wow nice job on creating this mod! Very Happy

Questions:

1) If I were to create a back up area how much room will it take up.

2) Do I use the new area command first then the name command to name the area I created?

1) What do you mean how much room ? Don't worry about that, just don't make the areas too huge Smile

2) Yes, exactly. /barea new -> /barea create areaname
should I change the wording so it is clearer ?

If you have some sort of recording device, can you then record in game tutorial? I don't quite understand how it works out from the text.

You start by walking to a good starting point for your new area. Then you type /barea new .this first point is going to be one of the corners. then you walk in a diagonal line to a new place and type in "/barea create [name of the area for example rapture3] and boom there you have it. Smile

So can veterans also do this? If not once the server is updated can someone include my ring of fire and glass and water pyramid in the back up.

Thanks
